Distracted Driving Bill S 1938 Passes Senate Committee

Back in Washington, the Senate committee that handles transportation passed a bill through committee that would cover grants to states that ban texting and handheld device use while driving. Did these officials read the study the NTHSA earlier this year. $3200 Per Employee…….?

Well, it appears Prop 17 in California was narrowly defeated. Based on a quick approximation what one Insurer contributed to the “Yes” on 17 campaign,  the 5000 employees that work there could have had an extra $3200 in their pockets. Instead it’s all gone. 53 Busted in Los Angeles

“Undercover investigators went to auto repairs shops to get estimates, and would ask if damage could be repaired under the same insurance claim even though some of the damage wasn’t caused by the same accident. “This prosecution put dishonest operators and anybody thinking about committing fraud on notice,” Rackauckas said at a news conference. “I think consumers have the right to know which of the auto repair shops are conducting straight business and which are not.”
