Subrogation To The Extreme?

In this story, an insurer is subrogating against the owner of a dog that was hit and killed by vehicle. The sad thing is that the family upset about the loss of their pet and now the insurer is seeking damages. In the “Strict” sense of subrogation I understand what the adjuster is doing but there has to be a time when common sense and a little heart needs to be used.  Click here for the full story.

Red Light Cameras Increase Rear End Losses?

According to this article, red light cameras do anything but increase safety. More rear end accidents occur due to people slamming on their brakes to avoid running a light. I’m sure we’ve all seen it because I certainly have. A driver in front either floors the accelerator to get through or a driver slams on their brakes early.

Just like the ban on cell phones was recently shown to have NO effect on reducing accidents, it’s simply government legislators attempting to look like they are “caring” and want to ensure safety when in reality there is no effect and often an unintended ones result.
