AB 1200 Auto Body Steering Legislation To CA Governor’s Desk….
AB 1200, as amended, Hayashi. Motor vehicle insurance: direct
repair programs.
Existing law prohibits insurers from requiring that an automobile
be repaired at a specific automotive repair dealer. Under existing
law, an insurer may suggest or recommend a specific automotive repair
dealer under certain specified circumstances.
This bill would authorize an insurer to provide a claimant with
specific truthful and nondeceptive information regarding the services
and benefits available to the claimant during the claims process
pursuant to the policy , as specified.
The bill is now to enrollment and off to the Governor of CA for signature…..

Mass Insurance Commissioner Lays Out “Fair” Auto Premium Rates…
In the Massachusetts insurance market, the insurance commissioner outlined what “fair” premium increases would be for those insured in the “residual” market.
Basically the drivers who are the riskiest for insurers to insure would have their premiums capped. Click here for the link to the letter.
