Here’s an interesting auto body labor rate chart from San Diego.

With the signing of AB 1179 the other day, one section was added to  1874.87 of the California  Insurance Code.  This new part must be provided to each insured at the time of application for auto insurance or following an accident reported to an insurer in addition to the one’s that currently exist.

 (5) A consumer's right to seek and obtain an independent repair
estimate directly from a registered auto body repair shop for repair
of a damaged vehicle, even when pursuing an insurance claim for
repair of that vehicle.

Okay, AB 1179 is official.
