Based on data processed during the first 5 months of 2009, the average age of a vehicle in an auto claims loss is 7 years old. Insured vehicles trended newer while claimant vehicles trended older.

Just saw a great posting about a firm who released a cell phone app that works with a BlackBerry. It allows the vehicle owner to report the loss right from the scene enabling instant FNOL. Seems to be very interesting. Click here for the link.
