Average Auto Loss Deductible…..

Deductibles vary by policy and coverage, but are most often in amounts of $100, $250, $500 or $1,000. Based on a random sampling of 10,000 auto claims files that have deductibles, the average deductible in 2009 so far is $591.00  This includes both collision and comprehensive files.  This may mean more drivers are opting for the $500 deductible or higher.

Average Appraisal Total Loss BreakPoint.

In 2009 thus far, this interesting graph below shows the average appraisal value when a vehicle is totaled. While this is not the value of the vehicle itself, this is the average appraisal value point of when a vehicle has been deemed a total loss. It is important to keep in mind, various total loss thresholds, state laws and special situations can vary in many instances.
