SCRS Statement On “Damage Assesment”
The SCRS released a statement stating they support any efforts that would require disclosures that an insurer is not writing an “estimate” only an “assessment” on inspections completed by insurers. Of course the SCRS is looking out for themselves as they are a collision repair organization. The fact of the matter is, any experienced field damage appraiser, or insurance appraiser can write an estimate just as good and often better than an auto repair shops in house staff. The word “damage assessment”, “estimate”, “appraisal” etc. are all the same basic synonyms. It’s simply semantics. Click here for the article.
