In some parts of the country, Auto insurers have acquired an interest in auto repair facilities or own some outright. In Nevada, legislation in the form of  AB  297 would aim to prohibit such ownership in the state. Click here for the bill text.

In an interesting “visual” based on the auto body labor rate data we released last week, this followup shows a map the “Hot Spots” in California. The redder areas indicate higher labor rates and the lighter yellow indicates lower rates. The gray areas indicate locations with no real spikes in labor costs.
