In a recent study released by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, low speed accidents involving smaller cars resulted in expensive auto body repairs. This is due to the bumper assemblies not being constructed in a way that will absorb impact while keeping damage to a minimum.

According to the AAIA, The Collision Repair industry grew 5% from 2006 to 2007. The Collision Repair industry is a 41.5 billion dollar industry based on information from the AAIA study.
